"Before compiling your next grocery list, you might want to watch this eye-opening documentary, which sheds light on a shadowy relationship between agriculture, big business and government. By examining the effects of biotechnology on the nation's smallest farmers, director Deborah Koons Garcia reveals the unappetizing truth about genetically modified foods: You could unknowingly be serving them for dinner."

                       Hi Jen,
I had the good fortune to finally meet Mary Jane a couple of weeks ago........I forgot to ask her how it feels to have been 25 years ahead of the crowd.......growing organically and sustainably and putting food by. Now we have to have a new name for it "locavores" and bumper stickers saying "eat locally". If you want to scare the daylights out of yourself, read a copy of the Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan. I'll check out the future of food website.
As a side note, I was asked to write a journal-like piece for the Idaho Statesman online edition in Boise ID, re: How I use my CSA (community supported agriculture/farm)subscription each week. You can see it at http://www.idahostatesman.com/ or on my website, www.idahogardener.com. |

Can't wait to dig deeper into your website, Mary Ann! The photo of Salmon River country reminds me of a favorite spot along some nowhere highway in NE Oregon. Awe inspiring!
By the way, if anyone else tries to access Mary Ann's site using the link above, DELETE the period at the end. For some reason, it got incorporated into the web address & it messes it up.
